Spirit of the Game

From the 11th Edition Rules of Ultimate Frisbee, this principle applies to every sport in which Kon Disch competes:

Spirit of the Game: Ultimate relies upon a spirit of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play. Protection of these vital elements serves to eliminate unsportsmanlike conduct from the Ultimate field. Such actions as taunting opposing players, dangerous aggression, belligerent intimidation, intentional infractions, or other win-at-all-costs behavior are contrary to the spirit of the game and must be avoided by all players.

Kon Disch: Mr. White's Varsity Conditioning

Mission Statement:

Kon Disch will be the BEST, most COMPETITIVE, most FEARSOME conditioning group at the Boarding School and will gladly face any other group in hand-to-hand combat or any other test of physical endurance and/or skill!

Don't mess with Kon Disch.
And remember, "A winner never quits, and a quitter never wins."

As Conan the Barbarian says: "What is best in life? To see the enemy driven before you and hear the lamentations...."

Thug Life

Kon Disch (Larry Bird) went up against the Larges (Bill Laimbeer) yesterday and stunned the wannabe bad boys by beating the spread. Vegas had the Larges winning by at least 18, but when all was said and done, Kon Disch cut the final lead to ten, thus earning the moral and emotional and TRUE victory.

In fact, questions remain as to whether or not the Larges actually finished the game. As is traditional in Kon Disch, the Great White called for "Next goal wins," but the Larges simply walked off the court at the buzzer--BEFORE the next basket! Some may consider such behavior unsportsmanlike. Others might call it QUITTING, aka FORFEITING!

Tony Ja breathed life into Kon Disch mid-way through the game with some inspired steals, earning the defensive player of the game honors. He had 19 steals in 12 minutes of play. Wildman earned MVP on the strength of his 81 points--before Sketch Twin #4 launched his dirty campaign of football on the pinewood floor.

Next week: mixed up tournament with the Larges. Four equal teams, two courts, big prizes.
