Spirit of the Game

From the 11th Edition Rules of Ultimate Frisbee, this principle applies to every sport in which Kon Disch competes:

Spirit of the Game: Ultimate relies upon a spirit of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play. Protection of these vital elements serves to eliminate unsportsmanlike conduct from the Ultimate field. Such actions as taunting opposing players, dangerous aggression, belligerent intimidation, intentional infractions, or other win-at-all-costs behavior are contrary to the spirit of the game and must be avoided by all players.

Kon Disch: Mr. White's Varsity Conditioning

Mission Statement:

Kon Disch will be the BEST, most COMPETITIVE, most FEARSOME conditioning group at the Boarding School and will gladly face any other group in hand-to-hand combat or any other test of physical endurance and/or skill!

Don't mess with Kon Disch.
And remember, "A winner never quits, and a quitter never wins."

As Conan the Barbarian says: "What is best in life? To see the enemy driven before you and hear the lamentations...."

Slack City

The Ole Great White apologizes for his slackness re: Kon Disch, The Blog.

Li'l Summary, in reverse chronological order.

Soccer Tuesday featured teams captained by the oldsters: The Great White and Pouliot. Nice snow, crust, and ice playing surface. Hard fought match featured defensive player of the game Mighty Matt Benoit and MVP GREAT WHITE hisself. Thanks to some sweet passes by his righteous teammates, the Great White recorded his first hat trick in probably 30 years. Wildman and Pouliot also scored two goals each, and someone else on her team scored. The GW forgets. Corey and Lee joined in, as did Psycho Boy--many thanks to all of them. Final score 5-3, GW's team.

Friz Monday, also in the snow, was competitive and well-tuned to the ole spirit of the game. Bacnasty captured MVP with something like 5 goal receptions. Shoes set up most of those, so give him the ole nod for assists. Also, Shoes probably deserved Defesive Player of the Game.

Friday, or was it Thursday, was football. Another day was soccer, in the upper barrenlands. Tony Ja captured player of the game that day after his most fiercesome HAND BALL declaration.

Probably missing something, but aside from an aborted game of basketball on Wednesday, when JVB kicked us to the ole curb, it's been a pretty solid week for Kon Disch.

Big game tomorrow when Kon Disch destroys the Larges in BBall!

Stay tuned, true believers....
